Our Dental Office is In-Network with Cigna in Long Island City, NY

Our dentists at 1311 Jackson Ave Dental in Long Island City, NY are in-network with Cigna DPPO dental insurance. Yes, we are accepting new patients.

However, aside from the DPPO plan, Cigna also has other tiers of dental insurance, some which we accept while others we do not.

We Accept Cigna DPPO Advantage but not the managed plan

Our dental office is able to work with the DPPO Advantage plan, meaning we accept Cigna DPPO Advantage. A lot of our patients do have this plan. The Advantage is actually a lower tier than the DPPO, despite having the "Advantage" in its name.

What it means for you to have the Advantage plan: The Cigna DPPO Advantage plan typically has a slightly lower coverage for dental procedures when compared to the Cigna DPPO plan.

  • Example: Filling coverage may be 80% on the DPPO but may only be 70% on the Advantage.

  • The coverage is usually slightly lower but not by a large amount.

We do not accept Cigna DHMO plans

Cigna offers a “managed” plan called DHMO which our dentists are out of network with but more importantly, we’re unable to accept.

Why we can’t accept it: Managed plans typically assign you to a specific dental office/provider.

  • Your visit will NOT be reimbursed if you see a dentist other than your assigned one.

  • Therefore, if you get your dental checkup with us, none of your visit will be covered. It will be 100% out of pocket.
